Candace Evans – Stage Director
Acclaimed as a director “with a flawless sense of timing” (Opera News), Candace Evans is known for the clarity of her story-telling, through the interplay of music, text, movement and the visual world of sets and costumes. A native of Madison, Wisconsin, Ms. Evans was trained as an opera singer and his since danced with the Wisconsin Ballet Company and earned a Master of Fine Arts in classical theatre. Known for her collaborative spirit, she has worked as a theatre artist for over twenty-five years, directing and choreographing over seventy operas, musicals, plays, and ballets. Ms. Evans currently serves as Acting and Movement Coach for the Dallas Opera Young Artists Program. Recent credits include critically acclaimed direction of The Merry Widow and choreography for Salome, La Rondine and Ariadne auf Naxos, all for the Dallas Opera.
