Katharine Goeldner - Carmen
Mezzo-soprano Katharine Goeldner recently earned unanimous raves for her triumphant run at New York City Opera as Erika in Barber’s Vanessa. Of her 2003 Carmen at New York City Opera, Opera News wrote “she has been widely praised, and it's easy to see why. She's a delectable creation: sexy and intelligent, alive to musical and dramatic detail.” Ms. Goeldner has also performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Opéra National de Lyon, Teatro Real Madrid, and the Salzburg Festival. In concert, she has appeared with the Mozarteum Orchestra, the Bruckner Orchester, the Vienna Symphony, the Berlin Symphony, and the Munich Radio Orchestra. Recent season appearances include Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte at the Santa Fe Opera and Fenena in Nabucco at Dallas Opera. Ms. Goeldner’s 2008/2009 season included a return to her signature role of Strauss’ Composer in a production at Salzburg's Festspielhaus and her Chicago Lyric Opera debut as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly.
