Planned Giving: Madison Opera Encore Society

Great performances for future generations...

Since 1961, Madison Opera has been bringing the very best of the operatic experience to the citizens of Madison, Dane County and beyond. Planned giving through your estate will help ensure this tradition of excellence for future generations. It will also help to maintain, enrich and expand Madison Opera's extensive outreach and education programs. Your gift will touch thousands in very meaningful ways.

You don't have to be wealthy to make a significant gift to Madison Opera. Did you know there are Planned Giving programs that will help you to support Madison Opera that will not affect your current lifestyle or your family's security? Planned Giving can take many forms, with people of moderate income able to serve the community in this very important way while enjoying substantial tax benefits.

  • You can make a gift that costs you nothing during your lifetime
  • You can make a give that leaves your cash flow and current financial planning unchanged
  • You don't have to use cash to make your gift
  • You can give an asset you no longer need or want. Some assets can actually benefit you more if you give them away. This may allow you to pass more on to your heirs and pay fewer taxes.

Taking the first step is easy...

Just include Madison Opera as part of your estate plan. Here is some simple language for an unrestricted bequest:

"I hereby give $________ or a percentage of my residual estate (or specific assets) to Madison Opera Inc., 3414 Monroe St., Madison, WI 53711, to be used at the discretion of the Madison Opera management and/or Board of Trustees."

Please contact your attorney or financial advisor to discuss how you can include Madison Opera in your planned giving. Madison Opera is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. If you plan to include or have already included Madison Opera in your estate plan, please let us know. We are honored to recognize our generous supporters as members of our "Encore Society" and we encourage others to join them!
