Since 1961, Madison Opera has been sharing the excitement of opera with our community and beyond through productions of a broad operatic repertoire, Opera in the Park, programs for students, programs for seniors, recitals, lectures, and many other activities.  Our productions and programming have grown and evolved over our lifetime, and we know they will continue to do so as our community and opera itself evolves.

Planned giving through your estate will help ensure this tradition of excellence into the future, both onstage and through our extensive education and engagement programs. Your gift will touch thousands in meaningful ways for years into the future – and you don’t need to be a millionaire to do it.

Support Madison Opera in Perpetuity

A legacy gift can preserve your annual giving to Madison Opera. For example, if your regular annual gift is $1,000, a legacy gift of $20,000 to the Madison Opera Foundation Endowment will ensure that Madison Opera continues to receive that $1,000 in perpetuity. Generations from now, you will still be helping Madison Opera produce great opera, whether that is classics like La Bohème or free concerts like Opera in the Park.

Ways to Give

Your attorney or financial advisor can help you decide the best way to include Madison Opera in your planned giving.  Here are some examples:

• Make a bequest of cash, securities, or a percentage of your residual estate to Madison Opera.
• Name Madison Opera as a beneficiary of your IRA or other retirement plan.
• Name Madison Opera as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
• Create a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder unitrust, which will give you current income and a charitable deduction.
• Establish a deferred gift annuity.
• Create a charitable lead trust.
